Jacky Gilchrist is a health and medical writer who contributed to the New York State Department of Children and Families’ collection of resources for parents and caregivers. She is particularly interested in writing about topics that assist parents of children with special needs.

Beth Katz has a Master’s in Special Education from San Diego State University and has taught children with special needs in the California public school system. She is an education consultant and writer, and an outspoken advocate for education equality.

Sally Kirkpatrick has over two decades of experience teaching children with special needs in a general education classroom. She created curriculum for her school district, specialized in response to intervention (RTI), and served as the Special Education Coordinator at her school.

Serena Makofsky is an education writer with twenty years of experience educating children in urban classrooms. She is a bilingual teacher who has written curriculum, textbooks, reference books, and other education publications.
